Why Reading the Play?
Horse Racing and sports tips for NRL and NFL
Gerard Condon
Gerard launched his website, Reading The Play, in 2007, initially focusing on rugby league. Post-retirement from any serious coaching role (mid 1990’s) was also around the same time that sports betting started to get some serious cut-through and focus across radio and TV media, and more generally on public sports forums and websites (pre-social media!). As someone who had always had an interest in horse racing and betting sports betting on NRL became a natural fit – but from the a different angle of a past coach.
What initially started out as his own game previews and bet suggestions shared with friends and a few public sports forums led, a few years later, to a popular following and being offered a paid role providing all NRL tips and content to an established sports website. Well, why not do it yourself! And so Reading The Play was launched!
Having coached at a senior level for 16 years, including three years on the coaching staff of an NRL club (North Sydney Bears) Gerard was obviously an avid student of the game – and of competitive sport, and this approach then flavoured how he was to then look at a game, its flow, strengths and weakness and then likely outcome.

Reading The Play has now grown into a small team of specialists, each with a proven long-term track record across their individual area of focus. We are deliberately niche and focus on our strengths across NRL, Horse Racing and NFL. We’ve been doing this online for the long haul and enjoy the support now of many long-term loyal subscribers and followers.
Our analysts have been working at their ‘trade’ for many years. They bet professionally to win. They spend hours each week reviewing the form and markets to form an opinion and bet recommendations in their individual areas of speciality.

We also do not offer locked-in subscriptions or recurring options, any subscription option is always of your choice be it from a few week to a longer time commitment. Gerard has coached sides to win titles at a senior level, run the football arm of a successful district club, managed professional NRL players and worked in various development roles, so it’s fair to say the game of Rugby League is certainly in his blood and supports an experienced and unique offering.
Mr.G now provides our subscribers with his NRL tips game previews and recommended NRL sports betting tips every week through out the NRL season including all finals series and State of Origin.
